Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • 1. Introduce the basic concepts of chartering business, types of chartering and shipbroking
  • 2. Understand freight markets and how market mechanisms in chartering and shipbroking function in those markets
  • 3. Estimate voyage costs and calculate freight for voyage chartering considering thr time charter equivalent (TCE) of freight.
  • 4. Develop shipbroking skills in chartering negotiations and understand charter parties
